Applegarth is a friendly home, which provides accommodation for both sexes over the age 65, who require assistance with their daily living.

We accept persons from all ethnic groups.

We have District Nurse's or Community Psychiatric Nurse who will visit a resident if requested. We can accept emergency admissions and residents wishing to stay on respite care for a short period, providing a room is available.

We also have a non-smoking policy in the home.

A thorough pre-assessment is completed by an appropriate trained member of staff. On the basis of this an initial decision is made as to whether the Home can meet the needs of the potential resident. A visit to the Home is always offered and encouraged. Prospective residents and their families are encouraged to read the homes inspection reports.

It is important that not only can we meet the needs of all residents but that they feel at home and relaxed therefore a trial period, of six weeks, is offered to all new residents. At the end of this period a review meeting will take place and a permanent placement offered if everything is satisfactory.
